Salary negotiations begin Monday, June 22: UTSF stands for all tenure system faculty and librarians
Exciting news — The UTSF Negotiations Team is heading to the table to negotiate the raise pool for tenure system faculty and librarians for the upcoming 2026-2027 academic year.
This is a significant moment for our union that follows many hours of preparation, research, and collective effort. Our goal is to reach a tentative agreement with administration that provides a favorable rate increase for tenure system faculty and librarians for the coming year. UTSF members will then have an opportunity to consider the tentative agreement and vote on its ratification. A ratified agreement will apply to all members of the bargaining unit (tenure system faculty), but only our union members are eligible to vote on the negotiated agreement.
The power of UTSF lies in our unity. When we all stand together, we negotiate from a position of strength. At this moment of increased instability and uncertainty at MSU, our unity is more important than ever. Becoming a UTSF member strengthens our negotiating efforts by showing the university that faculty stand united and determined. Being a member also gives you a seat at the table for discussion and ratification of this negotiated agreement and our big contract negotiation in the fall.
Individually and collectively, our voices matter. Become a member today and lend your perspectives and support to these negotiations and to everything that lies ahead. Join with all those who are standing together to fight for what is important to faculty – academic freedom, input on the decisions that impact your work, fair compensation, and the ability to help navigate MSU’s future.
With solidarity,
NiCole Buchanan, UTSF President
Zach Kaiser, UTSF Vice President
Musaib Ashraf, UTSF Treasurer
Julie Libarkin, UTSF Secretary
